Blue Beetle Pop-Up Shop 3/7/09

On March 7th, 2009, Quiksilver Limited launched it's first shop-in-shop concept at Blue Beetle in Santa Barbara, CA. The iconic surf label created an art installation and utilized local shaper "Matt Moore" for some inspiration for the shop. Some collectable pieces throughout the installation were taken from Matt's archives and used as props, to make Blue Beetle feel like an 80's surf shop, that was plucked from it's era. From unfinished surfboards, to the preliminary sketches of the boards, even down to Matt's New Balance sneakers, covered in wax...this installation gave you the feeling of stepping back in time, to a place all too familiar, with the Quiksilver family. It's up for the next 5 weeks, so be sure to check it out!

Blue Beetle, 925 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101 (805.897.1137)
